Our winter days may be short, but they are regularly book-ended by some of our most spectacular
displays of color and light. The sun, ascending from the chill of darkness at sunrise or descending at dusk from the waning day, sets the
sky ablaze.
Sometimes there's simply darkness. Or we see only clouds.
